Bright Skin for Winter

Most people start frowning around winter time as it is very hard on the skin but in fact, it is the best time to nourish our skin. In summers, the skin has to keep detoxifying itself but the same doesn’t apply in winter and you have to take advantage of the fact that the skin doesn’t have to do the same in winter.

While dryness, cracking, dullness and roughness of the skin are common, it is because heat is building up within the body. The cold shrinks the pores and therefore doesn’t let heat to release outside. According to Ayurveda, certain very simple lifestyle changes can help better this situation such as:

•          Keep your skin covered during most times

•          Use natural fabrics more

•          Periodic oil massages

•          Drink plenty of warm water

•          Do plenty of brisk exercises

•          Avoid excessive time in the sun

•          Exfoliate non-facial skin periodically with a loofah
