CBR AYURHEALTH Study and Treatment Centre

Ayurveda means ‘Science of Life’. It deals with each and every aspect of human life. Its objective is to maintain the health and happiness whilst to manage and restore the status of health and productive state of mind. It gives equal importance to our body, mind and soul; therefore works with holistic approach.
CBR helps you to gain this science by offering various full-time and part time courses in Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Yoga, Kalarimarma massage and Kerala Cookery through class room and via distance learning programmes. The syllabus is so designed that both beginners and those with pre knowledge in the field can easily comprehend the concepts and can have a wider perception of the topic under expert advice. Theory classes and practical trainings are given by experienced and professionally well qualified physician. Practices and training in yoga are given by expert yoga Instructors who are qualified in Post Graduation Degree in Yogic Science and Indigenous Health Care from Kannur University, recognized by Government of Kerala. Also Kalari Marma massage and Kalaripayattu training (Kerala Martial Art) are handled by experienced and renowned National Championship holders.

TRADITIONAL KERALA AND AYURVEDA CULINARY (TKAC)

    Class Timings:- 05:30 pm to 08:00 pm

    This is an exclusive course that will give you hands-on experience. Here we are introducing the South Indian food which is not served in restaurants in the way it is cooked at home. Also an opportunity to learn the way how it is cooked in the homesteads rather than in the commercial mass eating places. Almost every dish prepared at our centre has spices – cinnamon ,cardamom, cloves, ginger, garlic, cumin, pepper, corriander, turmeric etc…….-added to it, that add flavour and taste to them. Adding curry leaves also help on increasing digestion.

    We introduce some food items that we have for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also some drinks which have medicinal value (ayurvedic drink), Keralites traditional favourite Kanji (rice gruel)and Payaru (green gram) is also introduced. Our guest can stay with us and learn the traditional kerala cookery along with some CBR special items. Thus you can enjoy the whole in one roof and make your days a memorable experience

KALARI MARMA MASSAGE (Rope massage) - 2 weeks Course

Class Timings:- Either in the morning or Evening

This course offers an excellent chance to learn advanced feet massage techniques (advanced version of Chavitti Uzhichil) in which massage is performed with the feet holding on to a rope attached to the ceiling. The classes are conducted under the guidance and supervision of veteran Kalari Gurukkal; one of the few people still practicing the traditional form of Kalari Marma Massage and Kalaripayattu.

KALARIPPAYATTU (Kerala martial art) -3 weeks course

Class Timings:- 06:00 pm to 08:00 pm

Kalaripayattu is perhaps the most ancient martial art in the world. Kalaripayattu is derived from the words Kalari - which means "place, threshing floor, or battlefield", and payattu - which means to "exercise in arms or practice". Martial arts have been in existence on the Indian sub-continent for thousands of years. Apart from endowing one with physical agility and prowess, this ancient art equips one with excellent concentration and mental equipoise. Kalarippayattu is the martial art peculiar to Kerala. Traditionally the people of Kerala learnt and practice to perfect Kalarippayattu as an art of warfare. Now people learn it for a high degree of physical fitness and for self-defense.

Kolthari defense and attacks with a variety of wooden weapons

Syllabus
Introduction to Kalarippayattu – history, purpose etc.
  • Intensive course in Maippayattu - This will include the basic leg movements, jumps and postures of the body. Also choreographed movements.
  • Exercises with wooden batons and sticks - Basic defensive techniques with short stuff and long stuff. Also choreographed movements with stick held.
  • Exercises with sharp weapons like dagger, sword and shield - This will include defensive techniques using shield and daggers.
  • Course in bare handed defense - This will include blocks, breaks, locks, thorns etc

If specialized training for longer period is required in any of the above, the course will be adjusted accordingly.

Vital Information

  • English would be the medium of instruction.
  • You need not get anybody with you as model. As your trainer or students in your batch becomes your model, and students practice on each other.
  • Photograph and video in any course is strictly prohibited.
  • Institution certificate after the successful completion of the course.
  • Relevant study materials for selected courses, after Course completion.
  • Code of Ethics:- The courses require a certain amount of physical contact between students which may be of a sensitive and personal level and you are expected to adhere to the guidelines set out below:-
    • Zero tolerance of sexual harassment, innuendo, language and any form of discrimination on the grounds of sexuality.
    • Zero tolerance of racist attitudes and language.
  • Reservation Policy:-
    • Our primary focus is to provide quality education rather than the magnitude of the class, so we accommodate only limited number of students in a batch (appr. 12)
    • Our policy is “First come First Served”, so we advice the students to book well in advance for their seat confirmation and room blocking.
    • There will be an advance payment for the reservation of their seat in the enrolled course and the balanced course fee must be paid in cash on the very first day of the course.
    • Early intimation to the Institution regarding the final courses chosen by the students and the date and time of their arrival is a must.
  • Cancellation Policy:-
    • The course fee is non-refundable, non-cancellable and non-transferable.
    • Due to teacher cancellations, low bookings or other situations outside our control some courses may be temporarily or permanently unavailable. We reserve the right to make any changes to our programme, courses or teachers. Alternative arrangements are offered to the best of our ability but, if not taken up, we do not accept responsibility for any costs incurred, including airfare

ACCOMMODATION

Students can stay at our Centre which is located amidst the greenery in a serene and soothing environment, just 3 km away from the Kannur Main town. All rooms are bath attached with single, double or twin bed, hot and cold water facility, sit-out, Wi Fi, etc. Some rooms are air conditioned (extra charge); students can enjoy their stay at discounted rates.
