The Right Lunch

According to Ayurveda, Lunch should be your main meal. Both your energy levels as well as your appetite should be at the highest at noon. They will be if your physiology is in balance. In the morning and evening, you are only mildly hungry and even if you eat in excess it will just result in wastage. This does not mean that one should stuff one’s self at noon. The rule is to eat till you fill three fourth of your stomach. You must always leave some space for proper digestion.

Another important detail we must not fail to forget is to abstain from drinking cold water before and after lunch. The cold water to your stomach works the same way cold water acts in a grill. It douses the fire and therefore the food that you ate will remain idle and the process of digestion will take a longer time to occur. It actually makes sense to drink warm water and Ayurveda had said the same ever since its inception nearly 5000 years back.
