Tooth Decay

There is an ever growing debate on what exactly is the root cause for tooth decay and even though several theories have come up the truth remains that it has been our diet that caused the increase in tooth decay of the human race. When we studied a secluded village whose inhabitants are yet to taste processed food we learnt that they have healthy teeth and none of its inhabitants uses any sort of toothpaste or brush but still their teeth were well maintained. They made use of a natural diet. Tooth decay is as a result of acids in your mouth breaking down enamel which is the protective layer for every tooth. The naturally occurring bacteria in the mouth breaks down the sugar that is now abundantly present in our diet in all forms and manner and produces a byproduct which leads to quick degradation of enamel and ultimately cavities. In a nutshell, if you do not control your diet no amount of brushing can save you from cavities in the long run. The more unhealthy food one consumes the more likely it is to have tooth decay.
